EAGLES RISE

Good Afternoon RHS Parents and Students,

I want to thank you for your continued patience as we approach the start of our 2020-21 school year. Our school year begins on August 19th. We will spend our first three weeks virtually. As we get closer to the August 19th date, we will share zoom information with each student so they know how to connect with our staff on August 19th at 9 am. Listed below you will find information that will hopefully help answer some of the questions you may have.

  1. If you have not had an opportunity to look through the parent blueprint, please visit: https://web.risd.org/backtoschool/ If you have questions beyond the blueprint, please contact any administrator or Counselor at RHS. Please see the link below for all contact information.

  1. RHSPTA. Now more than ever we need this partnership for our students, school, and community. The RHS PTA is an excellent way to stay connected with all things RHS. We also invite everyone to join and help us build upon this partnership. Please see the link below for our 2020-21 PTA informational flyer.

  1. Learning Commitment Survey - The process for parents to formally commit to either virtual instruction or in-person instruction for the 2020-21 school year has now opened. Parents were sent an email message with a customized link for each enrolled child at the primary email address provided upon enrollment. Parents who cannot locate the commitment process email should check their spam/junk filters and folders. Parents can verify their email address by contacting their child’s school and may be referred for support at learningmodel@g.risd.org

  1. 2020-2021 Bell Schedule - Students will follow the attached bell schedule beginning August 19th (first three weeks of virtual) and will continue as we return to campus on Sept 8th. For questions concerning schedules and how the 2020-2021 bell schedule will impact certain classes, please refer to the RHS administrator and counselor list above.

  1. Chromebook Insurance - With the virtual setting we will begin our year with, it is more important than ever for our students to have updated insurance for their Chromebooks. Please visit the attached document for details related to the purchase of Chromebook insurance.

  1. Chromebook issue and repair. Please fill out the google form if you have chromebook needs.

  1. Face coverings for students when we return to F2F learning will be required. We will provide a face covering or you can choose to purchase face coverings. Face coverings will fall under the same rules as the dress code in terms of appropriate material. Face coverings are not needed until September 8th, at the earliest, but we wanted to give you plenty of time to purchase those if you choose.

With so much uncertainty and unchartered territory, we understand you may have many questions. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us. We will be more than happy to assist you.

We are going to make this year great! We can’t wait to see your students. Eagles will Rise, and yet again, be one of the best High Schools in the State of Texas.

Thank you,
